MOIRAI Research Presented at CodeBlue Meeting

MOIRAI research on the impacts of marine heatwaves on mussel farming in the North Sea was presented by Paulo Lagos, Aarhus University, at a CodeBlue project meeting hosted by the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) on Texel, the Netherlands.

The presentation focused on the use of a Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) modelling approach to investigate how changing environmental conditions, particularly marine heatwaves, may affect mussel growth and production.

This work contributes to MOIRAI’s broader objective of improving our understanding of climate change impacts on marine ecosystems and supporting more sustainable aquaculture practices.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge between MOIRAI and CodeBlue, highlighting their shared interest in advancing ocean digital twin technologies and their practical applications for marine industries.
