DMI Hosts IICWG-DA 2026
MOIRAI partner, Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) is set to host the 13th International Workshop on Sea Ice Modelling, Assimilation, Observations, Predictions, and Verification, from 9 – 11 June 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark.
The workshop brings together leading scientists and practitioners to address cross-cutting challenges in sea ice prediction, numerical modelling, data assimilation, observational uncertainties, and increasingly, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in sea ice research—a key emerging theme in the community.
Topics spanning model parameterization, coupling with ocean and atmosphere components, verification methods, and AI-enabled approaches resonate strongly with MOIRAI’s objectives to develop seamless, high-fidelity Earth system modelling frameworks.
MOIRAI’s participation will help showcase how advanced computational methods and hybrid modelling approaches contribute to improved sea ice representation, prediction skill, and integration within coupled climate and ocean systems—strengthening the scientific foundations for sustainable marine and climate solutions.
You can find out more about the workshop from the IICWG-DA 2026 webpage.
